El título de este post puede confundir a más de uno, pero a lo que quiero hacer referencia es a la canción “In Love With The Darkness”, que pertenece a la gran banda alemana Xandria. Este tema se encuentra en el discazo India, lanzado el 22 de Agosto del 2005, y que viene a ser su tercer álbum en estudio. Una hermosa melodía para recordar a la bella vocalista Lisa Middelhauve, que por problemas con los demás integrantes tuvo que retirarse de la banda, una pena realmente, su voz era de lo mejor que se venía escuchando en estos tiempos.

En estos días de locura musical he vuelto a escuchar este temazo llamado “Where Were You Last Night”, que es una versión de la banda finlandesa Nightwish, y que lo podemos encontrar en el EP Wish I Had An Angel, publicado en el 2004. En la canción podemos escuchar, tanto la voz de la linda Tarja Turunen, como la del bajista Marco Hietala. Por cierto, la versión original pertenece al álbum del mismo nombre y fue publicado en el año 1989 por la cantante sueca Ankie Bagger.

Un recuerdo de aquellos que dejan huella es esta baladaza llamada The Price, que pertenece a la banda norteamericana Twisted Sister, una agrupación formada en Diciembre de 1972 por el guitarrista Jay Jay French, y que han sabido mantenerse vigentes hasta la actualidad, aunque con algunos tropiezos de por medio, pero aún así siguen adelante. Este temazo se encuentra en el álbum Stay Hungry, lanzado el 10 de Mayo de 1984, con Dee Snider en las voces, Eddie Ojeda y J.J. French en las guitarras, Mark Mendoza en el bajo y A.J. Pero en la batería.

Within Temptation nos acompaña una vez más para deleitarnos con este temazo llamado “Ice Queen”, que se encuentra en el exitoso álbum Mother Earth, originalmente lanzado en Holanda el 4 de Diciembre del 2000 y en el resto de Europa el 21 de Agosto del 2001. La verdad es que cada vez que escucho esta canción, no puedo sacarla de mi mente, me encanta la melodía, la voz de la dulce Sharon, las guitarras de Robert Westerholt y Rudd Jolie, los videos que publicaron para este single, la versión acústica, simplemente genial. Excelente canción.

Within Temptation - Ice Queen

Winger es una banda de hard rock formada en Nueva York en el año 1987. Esta hermosa balada llamada “Miles Away” se encuentra en el disco In the Heart of the Young, publicado el 24 de Julio de 1990 por el sello Atlantic Records. Este álbum fue el segundo en su discografía personal y fue certificado como doble platino. Debido al éxito de este discazo la banda salió de gira alrededor del mundo por trece meses con los mejores grupos del momento como Kiss, Scorpions, ZZ Top, Extreme y Slaughter. Sin duda una excelente agrupación que se sigue manteniendo hasta la actualidad y siempre con la extraordinaria voz de Kip Winger.

Sheriff es una banda canadiense formada en 1979 por el vocalista Freddy Curci, el guitarrista Steve de Marchi, el tecladista Arnold Lanni, el bajista Wolf Hassel y el baterista Rob Elliott. La banda publicó solamente un álbum llamado Sheriff en el año 1982. Es en este disco es donde se encuentra esta baladaza “When I’m With You”, y que gracias a ella fue que escuché por primera vez la maravillosa y melodiosa voz de uno de mis cantantes favoritos, Freddy Curci.

The Swan Song es definitivamente una de las canciones más melodiosas y hermosas que he escuchado de la extraordinaria banda holandesa Within Temptation y donde se escucha a la hermosísima Sharon den Adel cantar como los ángeles. Este tema se encuentra en el discazo The Silent Force, que fue publicado en el año 2004.

Una de las mejores baladas de todos los tiempos pertenece a la agrupación norteamericana Steelheart con el temazo “She’s Gone” y la extraordinaria voz de Miljenko Matijevic. Se encuentra en el primer álbum titulado simplemente Steelheart, publicado en el año 1991, grabado en Los Ángeles y producido por Mark Opitz de MCA Universal. También permaneció como número uno en los Charts Internacionales por 17 semanas. Que hermosa canción, que hermosa melodía, que hermosa voz. Este tema va dedicado especialmente para mi bella amiga Katherine, porque cada vez que pienso en ella solo tengo esta canción en mi mente.

Nos acompaña esta vez el extraordinario vocalista Freddy Curci, conocido por ser la voz principal de bandas como Alias, Sheriff y Zion. Este temazo llamado “Perfect World” se encuentra en el soundtrack de la película Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, que protagonizara la hermosa Christina Applegate en el año 1991, también se encuentra en el álbum como solista del cantante llamado Dreamer’s Road de 1994. Una de las mejores voces que he escuchado.

Una vez más nos acompaña esta excelente banda cristiana llamada Whitecross con el temazo “Simple Man” que se encuentra en el álbum Triumphant Return de 1989. Un tema que nos trata de explicar en lindas palabras que muchas veces la verdadera fe es lo único que necesitamos para seguir adelante con nuestra extraña existencia. Hermosa canción.

Conocí esta hermosa canción llamada Where My Heart Will Take Me o también conocida como Faith of the Heart gracias a la serie de TV Star Trek: Enterprise. El tema fue compuesto por la exitosa Diane Warren y el intérprete es el tenor inglés Russell Watson. Se incluyó en el álbum Encore lanzado el 1 de Octubre del 2002 y también en el Soundtrack de la serie publicado el 26 de Septiembre del 2001. Melodioso tema con muy buena lírica que, para mí, encajó perfectamente como tema principal de la popular serie. Muy buena voz la de Russell Watson.
